This is also the venue you can really put your mark on with intentional and meaningful decor. To show your guests who you really are as a couple and create an inviting and exciting space for them to party with you in!
If DIY or creative weddings are your thing, like me, opt for a well equipped country hall for your reception. As they are easy to make unique to you. Lucinda & Harry's Ewingsdale Hall wedding utilised the outdoor space surrounding the hall for both the ceremony and reception.
Kristie & Lauchland's wedding was held on a family property in Wynnum, that had a giant tennis court and wonderful lawns for the guests to enjoy from the end of the ceremony right through to midnight! They had lots of lovely detail for their guests to enjoy, so took the time to wander around and capture those things untouched before the day had really even begun.
I don't ask much of your wedding reception, I just casually wander around capturing glances, laughs, details and speeches. Though what really is vital to ensure that the shots I take are super great is carefully considered lighting. I like to avoid using flash, as I find it draws attention to me and away from where the attention should be. Though I do whip it out for the dance floor shots.
Having even and warm lighting across the room is the best way to ensure lovely photographs. Fluorescent lights can often create an editing hell for your photographer, And so do random spotlights shining on one area but not another!
The most important thing though is just to have fun!
