The Ordinary Arts

"The ordinary arts we practise every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest."

~Thomas Moore

I have often indulged in the notion of appreciating the little things in life.

Like galahs spending the afternoon in the tree just out the front door, and the happiness I feel when I am in the car and Jean is driving us down the highway from a trip to the coast.

Ordinary arts, like collecting freshly laid Winifred eggs, and the extra trouble of closing the front gate because flowers are growing in the way, are what make me feel home, and quietly make that soul of mine happy.
